Our Favourite Wellington Photoshoot Locations
There are countless fantastic photoshoot locations to choose from in Wellington. Here are just some of our favourites :) I have linked each title with its location on google maps, so you can see where each of these locations are.
Makara Beach
Makara has the beachfront, hills, long grass, and hill top views that are great for photos. Taking photos out here at sunset is breathtaking.
Princess Bay
Princess Bay has amazing rock formations spilling out into the water. You can climb across them for awesome photos plus the sun set out here is incredible.
Owhiro Bay/Red Rocks
Owhiro Bay has beautiful hills in the background, rocks that jut out into the water, plus there’s tussock and a cool rock face along the beach. The sunset out here is also spectacular.
Breaker Bay
At Breaker Bay there is the beachfront, rocks that jut out into the ocean, plus a naturally formed rock archway on the beach
Begonia House
Begonia House is a beautiful glasshouse filled to the brim with lush greenery. Two added bonuses of Begonia house are that the light is always amazing, and it’s always nice and warm inside :)
The City
The city is always changing, so the locations used for wedding photos are dependent on what the city looks like at the time of your wedding. Below are some Wellington City locations we have used in the past. Some of these locations likely no longer exist, which is part of the beauty of city wedding photos.
