Rose and Smith is a beautiful wedding venue set amongst the lush grounds of Tauherenikau Racecourse in the Wairarapa, just one hours drive from Wellington City. Rose and Smith is definitely one of the best wedding venues in the Wairarapa and we are so excited to show you why. Everywhere you look at Rose and Smith is more beautiful scenery. Old buildings with beautifully worn exteriors, lush greenery, historic grandstands, an outdoor kitchen and dance floor, plus the stunning restored teahouse. And that only scratches the surface of Rose and Smith’s beautiful surroundings.
Everything about Rose and Smith is incredible, from the fantastic owner and stylist Paula Bevege, to the food and the overall guest experience, Rose and Smith really has it all.

Rose and Smith has multiple ceremony locations for you to choose from
Rose and Smith has a beautiful tree lined garden ceremony location (capacity 60 seated, 200 standing), a forest clearing ceremony location (capacity 180), and The Round Bar (capacity 120). So if you are planning a big wedding ceremony, then Rose and Smith might be the perfect wedding venue for you.
Rose and Smith’s tree lined ceremony location (pictured below) comes complete with vintage wooden and iron benches. Rose and Smiths garden clearing is spacious while also feeling intimate so is wonderful for both small and large wedding ceremonies.

The Round House Ceremony Spot
The Round House is not only a beautiful wet weather ceremony location, but it’s also an incredible ceremony spot for sunny wedding days too! It’s extremely rare for a wedding venue to have an indoor ceremony location that’s just as beautiful as the outdoor ceremony spot, but at Rose and Smith it is! We adore The Round House, it’s stunning, photographs beautifully, and is a great escape out of the heat in the peak of summer.

Rose and Smith’s sprawling grounds provide endless options for your wedding day
At Rose and Smith there is so much flexibility to do your wedding your way. You can utilise the beautiful gardens, the forest, the grandstands, and the party lawn to make your bespoke wedding come to life.
There is plenty of space at Rose and Smith for you to have lawn games and a live band, while Rose and Smith provide endless delicious food served fresh from their outdoor kitchen and bar. So you can wine and dine up to 200 of your dearest family and friends all afternoon long.

Rose and Smith has a grand high ceilinged reception space
The reception space at Rose and Smith is a beautifully restored Tea House with white walls and high ceilings. The Tea House is a stunning blank canvas so your wedding can look exactly how you want it to.
With a capacity of 200 people, Rose and Smith wedding venue has everything you could possibly need. This includes an on site chef, wait staff, bar staff, space for an indoor dance floor and live band, plus all set up and pack down is provided by Rose and Smith.
In addition to all this, Rose and Smith owner Paula Bevege has an incredible onsite styling storage room filled to the brim with vintage wooden tables, wooden bentwood chairs, silver, brass, pottery, blackboards, vintage furniture, bar leaners, and more which you are welcome to use for your wedding all free of charge!!
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better than this, Rose and Smith also has the option for you to BYO alcohol to your wedding with no corkage charge! Rose and Smith really go above and beyond to make your wedding day as beautiful and stress-free as possible.

Rose and Smith’s in house chef Dale Keith delivers beautifully presented delicious food customised to suit your wedding. They even cook some of their food on a beautiful outdoor fire!

There are so many beautiful colours, textures, and backdrops at Rose and Smith for your wedding photos. Rose and Smith has the forest, the river, and beautiful old buildings all within walking distance of each other. This means you can get incredible wedding photos without sacrificing quality time with your wedding guests.

At Rose and Smith you can dance the night away under the stars
Rose and Smith’s outdoor dance floor is lit by festoon lights, and there is plenty of space for you to have a live band or DJ set up under the stars too. Plus late night wood fired hamburgers can be served hot off the outdoor fire straight to your wedding guests on the dance floor!

Rose and Smith wedding venue is located between Featherston and Greytown so there are countless beautiful accommodation options nearby. One of our favourites is The New York House (pictured below), which has stunning interiors, and beautiful natural light.
